Zvi Nixon is the firm’s Managing Partner, and heads the firm’s Commercial and International Arbitration Departments.

The 2020 Chambers & Partners guide acknowledged Zvi as a leading lawyer in the field of gas, oil, infrastructure and energy projects, who “is known for his work in the oil and gas sector” and “acts for a wide range of industry participants on disputes and transactions in the space“.

Zvi joined E. Landau Law Offices in 1981. He is an acknowledged leader in international arbitration, oil and gas projects, banking, international trade transactions, foreign direct investment, corporate investments and finance, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, infrastructure projects and maritime law.

He represents and advises investors, banks, project consortia and contractors on various aspects of projects related to pipelines, electric power facilities, gas and oil, water desalination, waste removal, shipping and highway construction both in Israel and in the US. He also advises regularly on hi-tech transactions, corporate mergers and acquisitions and exit transactions.

Zvi is one of Israel’s foremost international arbitration experts. Over the past 35 years, he has appeared both in ad-hoc and institutional arbitrations in a variety of commercial disputes, including oil and gas, construction, power generation, sale of goods and distribution contracts. He has represented Israeli and international parties, corporations and governments, in complex international cases including multi-billion dollar disputes involving private and public international law issues. He has served as an arbitrator both in ICC and ad hoc arbitrations, international and domestic. He also regularly instructs foreign counsel who appear in courts in major European and American jurisdictions.

He was an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, lecturing on International Investment Law. Zvi advises various government bodies on matters related to international law and treaties and has appeared at international conferences to lecture on Israeli investment, arbitration and energy law.

Zvi serves as Chair of the Board of the Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem, a leading non-profit institution in Israel, as a member of the Board of Governors of Haifa University and the Jerusalem College of Technology and on the board of other non-profit organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League – Israel (ADL).
