Energy and Infrastructure

Our firm has extensive experience in large scale energy and infrastructure projects, including oil, coal, natural gas, pipelines, ports, shipping, power generation, water desalination, waste removal, and transportation both in Israel and in the US.

Serving as legal advisors both to major infrastructure companies and to financial institutions that underwrite such projects, including banks, we are involved in all stages of the development of infrastructure ventures, from primary feasibility studies, regulatory concerns, establishing joint ventures and preparing tenders, through construction, financing and on-going issues. We have over 50 years of experience with agreements for the purchase, storage, transportation and distribution of fuel, power purchase agreements, engineering, procurement and construction agreements and operation and maintenance agreements.

E. Landau has unique expertise in maritime law, which together with our strength in other related practice areas allows us to offer our clients one-stop service for large scale projects. Our maritime experience includes construction of ports and related infrastructure, tendering, purchase and commissioning of vessels as well as environmental issues related to this field.

As a leading firm in the complex field of energy and infrastructure, we have unparalleled hands-on experience. The 2020 Chambers & Partners guide acknowledged the firm’s managing partner, Zvi Nixon, as a leading lawyer in the field of gas, oil, infrastructure and energy projects, who “is known for his work in the oil and gas sector” and “acts for a wide range of industry participants on disputes and transactions in the space”.
